Aries

Aries will start 2010 on a rather social note, making new friends, joining new clubs or groups this time is also good for taking the incentive and expressing your leadership abilities. Your creative energy is high right now and you have the drive and determination required to get things done. By the summer you are very much trying to make your mark on the world. A rebellious mood will see you inclined to buck against anyone or anything that restricts your freedom. Relations with family or neighbors may be a little tense due in part to your ‘tell it like it’ is approach to life. When it comes to work you are very much an “ideas person". Although some of your ideas may be a little unconventional provided that you ensure they have practical merit, you will gain the respect of your employers, or if you work for yourself, see the benefit in your business. By the end of the year communication with others is in full flow and you will find a great deal can be accomplished through making the most of your network of contacts. Money should flow well during this time and your assets should increase.

Taurus

Your practical hardworking nature will see you in good stead in 2010. Work and health will be in the spotlight during the start of the year; learn to take things easy and don’t neglect any niggling health issues. There may be a certain amount of awkwardness surrounding close relationships, which might be a little strained; however this should start to pass by mid March. Important decisions surrounding the home and family may be made around this time. Care will need to be taken over finances during the summer months, although you’ll be working hard it will often seem as though money is coming in on one side and going straight out of the other. Secret love relationships are indicated during the summer, you may have a secret admirer, or alternatively you may develop a strong attraction for someone you know only from afar. The winter months may prove something of an emotional rollercoaster, on the one hand you will discover a new found sense of purpose but at the same you may experience some lingering doubts and resentments about the way past events played themselves out. As your logical mind assesses your options you start to feel much more optimistic. Change for the sake of change is not something that interests you, but the change that is on offer here is very much for the better and well worth any short term disruption that you may experience.

Gemini

A great deal of energy will be directed towards both romantic and working partnerships during the early part of 2010. You have a strong sense of purpose and know exactly where you want to go, so go for it! Your sense of determination and powers of concentration are both good. This is a good time to sort out any money issues, as finances are well indicated during this period. Avoid the temptation to over indulge or overspend, now is the time to get your finances in order. By summer you may start to look at the possibility of furthering your education in some way. You will be directing much of your energy at this time towards work that will prove to be of considerable benefit. Do not underestimate the value and potential gains that the summer can offer you, particularly in regard to wealth and possessions. By the end of the year your need to communicate and interact is very strong and you are in full social flow once more. Serious involvement and interaction with groups, committees and societies are all indicated, as are social outings with close friends and acquaintances.

Cancer

You start the year giving serious thought as to how to make money, perhaps to enhance your creature comforts and improve your home. Any money making schemes are likely to be strictly conventional, you are shrewd enough to avoid any unnecessary risks; right now you have a powerful ability to rationalize your instincts standing you in good stead. The summer will see your aspirations being high and your business instincts going from strength to strength. Emotionally you may need to tread carefully with intimate relationships during this time, which may be subject to some highs and lows. The winter may find you wanting to withdraw a little from the hustle and bustle of life, spending more time on creative activities and with your family. You will find creative endeavors extremely therapeutic at this time, helping to alleviate any pent up stress you may have.

Leo

Your energy is high as we enter 2010 and you will be keen to seek out new challenges, however your intellectual prowess might not be as sharp as it usually is, so take the time to plan well and go over fine details before you commit to anything. Relationships with partners can be particularly fulfilling during this time. New responsibilities and opportunities may come your way. Financial prospects also look promising. Emotions run high during the summer and you may feel that through no fault of your own you are constantly taking one step forward and two steps back. The autumn is an ideal time to consider  the possibility of a romantic short break away with a partner or loved one, this will inject new vitality not only into your love life but also into your creative endeavors.

Virgo

As 2010 starts with your ruler, Mercury in retrograde it’s probably wise to aim for a low key start to 2010. This is not the time to be committing to anything where you have to sign on the dotted line. Expect a few delays and a few problems with travel and communication during the first couple of weeks, but remember, this period of uncertainty will quickly pass; it’s only with us until mid January. You put a great deal of energy into work during the summer months, but you must also take the time to relax and unwind, try incorporating cycling or walking into your routine. Your mind will be very active which will help you get things done with lighting speed and uncanny precision but which will also lead you to devote a great deal of thought to causes and situations that you feel strongly about which can distract you at times. Be especially careful during the last week of August and first two weeks of September when Mercury is one again retrograde, if you have to sign important documents or travel, wait until after this time.

Libra

You begin the year in a diplomatic and practical mood, and soon turn your attention to your relationships with others. Do not allow yourself to get caught up or swayed by the negative tendencies of others at this time, allow yourself to be guided by your own sense of fair play and good judgement – both of which are finely tuned right now. You find yourself being a little more cautious with money than you normally are, and will be more considered about what you spend it on and why. Any significant purchases will be home related and intended to add luxury, elegance and practical value to the home. In terms of romance, you will find it a little difficult to really express your deepest feelings during the early months of the year but once Venus moves out of Capricorn you will find that quickly resolves itself. As Venus moves into your sign own in early August you find that you are able to devote more time and energy to focussing on yourself, this is an ideal time to pamper yourself’ spend some time at the beauty parlour, spa or whatever makes you feeling good about yourself, its time to put yourself on centre stage and learn to value yourself. The autumn sees  a few petty disagreements that cause a few ripple on the usually calm Libran facade as Mars encourages you to express your feelings more readily than usual. There is also a distinct possibility of new relationships for single Librans or new life being injected into existing relationships; you are a born romantic and inclined to fall in love with the idea of love right now. Overall, an enjoyable autumn is promised, when love, communication and a pleasurable lifestyle are all indicated.

Scorpio

There are interesting times ahead for Scorpios in 2010. To a certain extent it will be somewhat of a reactionary year for you when you find yourself having to deal with expected events that you neither initiated nor anticipated. But with these events comes the excitement and change that you desperately crave. Fortunately you are more than equipped to rise to the challenge, quickly getting to the root of the problem and devising a strategy to bring any issues to a swift resolution. Your mind is particularly sharp this year, although you must guard against overwork which can bring on either nervous tension or paranoia. The end of the year will see you putting a great deal of energy into making money and acquiring material possessions that enhance your personal assets and security although you must guard against being overly possessive. Bold investments and clever financial dealings are favourably indicated for you during this time. Passion and emotional intensity is also on the cards as far as your love life goes, this is an ideal time for breathing new life into relationships or reassessing relationships that no longer satisfy your needs and moving onto something better.

Capricorn

Whether you’re ready for it or not, this could well be the year of the Capricorn, provided you are prepared to embrace change when you need to. Expect to have a lot going on throughout 2010, this is a year when you can lay firm foundations for material success and start to realise your ambitions. One word of caution though, be careful not to get so carried away with work that you neglect your partner. Watch out for some tricky communications in general during the first couple of weeks when Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn, once this passes it’s pretty much all systems go; business relationships are particularly well indicated. By the summer you will find yourself in a very nice routine although you might find your self confidence is a little low at times – this has more to do with Saturn’s transit through Virgo than anything being fundamentally wrong. Hang on in there, keep your sense of humour and any lingering self doubt that you aren’t doing the right thing will definitely pass. Your attention to detail and diligence is second to none at this time. This will be a year where you can achieve a great deal provided you keep a steady hand on proceedings.

Aquarius

We start the year with Jupiter, the most fortunate of all the planets in Aquarius making you more socially active than usual and generally rather popular. Lady luck is surely going to be by your side for the first part of January so make the most of it. You will have to watch that you don’t get carried away and over indulge with food and drink, otherwise it will be your waistline that suffers – take the motto ‘everything in moderation’ as yours this year. Your creative thought and powers of imagination are particularly on form in 2010 and you will be looking for a way to express them. You will also find yourself looking for ways to help people who are less fortunate than you. By the summer you need to guard against self deception in terms of your career, do not kid yourself into believing that things are a certain way when they are not. Your pioneering spirit will see you keen to start new activities during the summer; if it seems like a good idea then it probably is, so go for it.

Pisces

Creative originality is yours for the taking this year, so decide how you want to use this new found creativity and really go for it. You might find yourself taking up artistic or inventive activities; pursuits that will give your sensitive personality a relaxing but emotionally rewarding expression. As spring moves into summer you may find yourself assuming the role of teacher or mentor; this is a role where you can really shine as your natural empathy and non judgemental nature makes you the perfect teacher, particularly as it is likely to be related to an issue that you yourself have experience in. Avoid any risk taking, particularly during the summer months when you may be tempted to take a chance or two. A little caution needs to be exercised with romance too, avoid having your heart rule your head where love is concerned. Take a little time out towards the end of the year and allow yourself the luxury of a little ‘me time’; by doing this you will end the year on a positive and optimistic note feeling balanced and at peace.
